Iceland is one of the most amazing places on this globe. Created by volcanic eruptions it has not calmed down yet and the wild mix of water, ice and lava attracts hardy visitors from all over the world.
It also has a wide collection of smallish airports as air travel is often the only way to go from one end of the island to the other. But it’s also a magnificent way to travel as you get the best view of the amazing landscape from the air. In FSX as well, as you travel to far away airfields you see lava fields, glaciers, a stunning coastline and some of the most impressive volcanoes on this world. Add to that the weather that seems to change every half an hour and you get a great product for FSX.

Awards/Reviews:
Conclusion by the PC Pilot Magazine - Issue July /August 2011:
"If you like exploring far away exotic places, Iceland X is a must-have addition to your scenery library. Although the package hasn’t got photorealistic textures, it captures the feel of the landscape and you can spend endless hours exploring the island. The glaciers are well rendered and the animated waterfalls and steam rising from the hot springs are nice additions… Overall, Iceland X is a huge improvement over the default scenery and a worthwhile investment."

Conclusion by Avsim.com:
"Such a beautiful grouping of airfields, airports, and scenery for such a large area for such a low price sums up my opinion of this great product. Another stellar event at Aerosoft. I may not have been able to cover the entire island's topography and picturesque details but I just tried to get the message across that this product is worth having. You can spend a long time there, as I did. Although there was little AI except for the major airport, this did help in allowing for a fluid experience performance wise. Large expanses of Iceland seemed barren, but that is exactly what it is like there: all development is near the coast. Let me close in putting to rest some forum rumors that the performance hit was significant around the capital city airports. It was not. They must have fixed it before I got my reviewer's copy."

Conclusion by MutleysHangar.com:
"All in all Iceland X is a good, solid scenery that gives you a huge improvement over the default scenery, without eating up your available computer resources. With a price tag just below €25 it’s also fairly reasonably priced considering the big area covered. All things summed up I award it a Mutley’s Hangar Score of 8.5/10."

Conclusion by simFlight.com:
"Iceland is one of those places we dream of going to but rarely ever get the chance. Aerosoft have given us two addons that together provide the means by which you can have the opportunity to see and experience the beauty of Iceland. As you take the time to explore this island you will find yourself in awe of what you see and will want to come back again and again. I thoroughly enjoyed both products as they complement each other and together make for a great package."

Conclusion by FlightSim.com:
"Aerosoft's Iceland is a much more realistic depiction of the island overall and of many of its cities and villages and airports. Terrain, colors, seasons, and structures are all more realistic than FSX, especially the city of Reykjavik. Users will definitely find a more realistic appearance overall and enjoy the simulation experience throughout the island. The manual is helpful in this regard, but locations of points of interest listed in the manual would be beneficial."
