Die Flugzeuge der A320-Reihe gehören zu den häufigsten am Himmel. Diese zweistrahligen Airliner für Kurz- und Mittelstrecken stellten sich als kosteneffektiv, verlässlich und jederzeit einsatzfähig heraus, was sie für zahlreiche Airlines weltweit attraktiv macht. Über 8000 Exemplare wurden gebaut. Es handelt sich um hochgradig integrierte und automatisierte Flugzeuge, in denen der Pilot oft nur die komplexen Systeme überwacht.
Der Aerosoft A320/A321 ist der erste Release einer kompletten Neuentwicklung, in der so ziemlich jeder Teil der vorigen Releases überarbeitet oder neu entwickelt wurde. Was bleibt, ist die grundlegende Idee des Produkts und unser Engagement, diese umzusetzen. Wir simulieren das Fliegen des Flugzeugs, und dessen Systeme sind hierfür der Weg, nicht das Ziel. Dieses Produkt nähert die Flugsimulation so weit an das Erlebnis echter Piloten an wie möglich – von Interaktionen mit der MCDU bis zum Öffnen der Cockpittür gemäß korrekter Verfahren.
Dieses Projekt ist für die 64-bit-Plattform entwickelt und nutzt neuste Technologien; es handelt sich nicht bloß um ein neu kompiliertes 32-bit-Produkt. Das Resultat ist ein Produkt, das zukunftssicher ist und gleichzeitig die PC-Ressourcen schont.
